101 blog tips I’ve learned (Part 1)
It’s been six months now since I first put this blog live online. BusinessAccent is not my first blog. I was blogging a page-ranked four Philosophy blog back when I was a new passer as an accountant and was searching for my first employment job. I lost that blog because I just don’t have extra money to renew my blog’s domain and pay my web hosting – plus I was already very busy with my first employer during that time. After a year, I started blogging again – with this blog as my comeback blog. For six months of running this blog, I already learned a lot from my own experiences and from the other great bloggers out there. Some of the following blog tips are lessons that I still need to apply since I don’t have enough time to blog (I’m still a full time public accounting practitioner).
I have broken the following 101 blog tips into two parts. I believe that… a gradual intake of words will result into a better digestion of knowledge. Enjoy the first part of the list! Read more
BusinessAccent Blog Update and Action Plan
It was on the last days of the year 2008, when I lunched this blog. So this blog is almost four-month old now at this moment I write this post. This article story is my 68th post so far, so if I was already blogging for four months now, statistically I was posting an average of one article every two days. This statistic shows that I am still a lazy blogger. But this is due to the fact that I write articles that are usually long and are purely original. But more than that, I am not a full-time blogger, since I am currently employed as a head auditor in a certain accounting firm in the Philippines. But this job gives me a meaningful experiences particularly in business and helps me write meaningful articles with regard to that matter. Read more

It’s been four months now since I lunched this site. This blog was actually lunched during the Christmas season as you can see in the archives – December 2008. I am employed as a head of the audit and assurance department in an accounting firm in the Philippines. And because of the hectic nature of this job, I was not able to give a full attention in developing this site. But despite that, I was able to write original business articles on a regular basis – but not daily. Fortunately, this kind of effort has given this blog a Google pagerank of 2 and an average of 60 to 100 visitors per day (as of the moment). But still there are procedures that I did not performed yet to boost the popularity and traffic of this blog – because of my multifaceted and time demanding job. Read more
Is there business in commenting?
Particularly, I’m talking about commenting as a feature of a blog (weblog). We all know that a blog is a flexible, interactive, and content rich form of an internet site. These are the reasons why I’m using this script on my business blog – a blog which envisions to provide its users with rich and updated pieces of business information from time to time.
If you make a post on your blog, you can either activate or deactivate the comment option. Deactivating it will deprive your visitors and readers to post their comments on your posts. But for me, I always turn it on. This is the way to build a more interactive site where readers of your blog can post their comments and insights about you particular post or article. Comments also become contents of your blog and therefore the more the comments come in your blog the more the contents your blog will gain. Besides, it is always great to read a site with lots of ideas from different minds. Let’s just make sure that we always get rid of those irrelevant and annoying spam comments.
