great-leaderLeadership is the process of using values and principles to govern and influence people to effect a change for improving each person and the organization as a whole to accomplish a common goal. This is my humble definition of leadership. Romans 12:8 of the Bible even describes “to lead” as “to govern diligently” which also means leadership requires hard work not only physically but more than that, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Great leadership is essential in business, political, societal, spiritual and other organizations. That’s why, a leader should see to it that he possess all the qualities and values of a great leader and never stop learning from them. farmvilleBusiness lessons can be dug anywhere and anytime. If you have the entrepreneurial mind, you can reflect and learn important business virtues from your simple daily activities. I’ve been an ardent Facebook user for a couple of months now. The world’s most popular social network site is really fun and interestingly interactive. There, you can enjoy great games and applications including some marketing tools to promote your site. And here comes one game called Farmville – the only game I can allow to play for myself for currently experiencing time poverty.

Farmville is a very popular Facebook game application created by Zynga, a prominent company and developer of social games on the web.  It has more than 55 million monthly active users as at the date of this post. Inside the game, you can create your own farm, plant fruits and vegetables, raise nice animals and decorate the farm the way you want it. You can also send and receive gifts to and from your friends and neighbors. In the market, you can buy your desired seeds to plant, animals to breed and other stuff and infrastructures you want depending on your current level. As of the writing of this post, I’m just in the 12th level of the game. Nevertheless, I already enjoyed and had so much fun with it. And beyond that, I have learned the following ten business lessons that every business owners and entrepreneurs should reflect. Read more

The right way in doing business (Narrow Gate)

rough-roadLike anyone who is facing any kind of decision, business owners and entrepreneurs need to choose the right business decisions. There are many ways of doing business and attaining its successes, but generally, these ways are only categorized into two– the right and the wrong ways. Now, you may ask how to do business in the right way? How that road looks like? Are you heading the right path to real business success? These questions are very important to be answered whether you’re just in the beginning, in the middle, or in the end of an entrepreneurial journey. If you have walked the wrong way and have failed one business voyage, don’t worry, you can start a new expedition and assure this time that you can arrive at the right place.

In choosing the right ways in life, most people take the easy ways. They prefer to enter in a wide gate were most people come in.  They favor the way which is easier, faster and offers lesser sacrifices. More humans are getting into the large gateway, probably because of the following:

1. No sacrifices

2. No tears and pain

3. No sweat and hardships

4. No waiting

5. No need to follow strict laws and rules

6. No need to think of other people

7. No heavy commitments, obligations and responsibilities

8. Instant money and other material rewards

9. Closer to fame

10. Farther from early humiliation

Are you one of the many people who have entered into the large gate and now walking in a wide smooth road to life? As an entrepreneur, do you think you are heading the right path? Now, read the following verse from the Bible.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.” Matthew 7:13

Now, do you still want to enter in a wide gate? Few great people entered in the narrow gate because it is the gate to life and the road to fulfillment. Sacrifices, which most people avoid, actually are the things that give us genuine and long-term rewards (think of sacrificing your gigantic profit for the wellness of your consumers). Tears and pain make us more emotionally and spiritually strong (think of defending and protecting an honest business). Laws, rules and policies put us in harmony and in the right positions (imagine a peaceful and a liability free company). Love, caring and unselfishness bring us more friendly customers, employees, co-workers and other people (reflect on customer care and emotional investments). Finally, patience and hardships help us achieve true success in life (believe in a great business that is built to last).

The right entrance to the business world is the narrow gate. And the correct way to entrepreneurial success is the tough road. Online entrepreneurship, for example, is known as an easy quick way of earning money. But actually, online entrepreneurs also need to pass through the difficult way of life to achieve long-term success. The Internet is a real time world of information. That’s why building a great reputation for you and your business requires constant patience and hard working. Most online business owners failed because they jump into instant money and fame. They forget to prioritize the values and qualities of being a great business person. The common infopreneurs also prefer to deceive people to earn instantly because they don’t have the patience to wait for the right time to earn. They also break internet laws and code of ethics just to win the competition. They indeed earn initially, but after a while, they failed and they lose their money, names and dignities.

Conclusion:

Enter into the narrow gate and walk into the tough road. Why? This is the way to God’s glory. Many people entered the wide gate and walked into the easy road, but have failed. On the other hand, there are only few people who became extraordinary by passing through the hard way and have attained true success. Is this not the reason why many businesses have failed and only few have succeeded?
