Goodbye 2009! The great memories and moments you have contributed to my life are just remarkable. Although 2010 is now the year that I will be seeing in calendars everywhere, the lessons I’ve learned in 2009 will always remain in my mind, in my heart and in my blood. Most of those wisdoms were production of my business activities directed by my never-ending spiritual conquest. This year, I’ll be a full-time entrepreneur, considering my release from employment last December 2009. The following business lessons I learned in 2009 will be my greatest tools to achieve entrepreneurial success in 2010.
1. Stick to your game plan
This is a lesson I learned from Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach, the world’s best boxer and trainer of the decade. Many people are asking what is the secret behind the great victories of the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, the Pacman. The key is simple, stick to the game plan. In the world of entrepreneurship, we always have that game plan. That plan is directed to our main goals. However, there are several opportunities that come in our ways. Some of these opportunities are so attractive enough to drive us away from our original plans. The worst is… it’s already too late before we realize that we are already heading to the wrong direction, direction that will lead us to failure. Pacquiao, although he sees an opportunity to knockout his opponent during fight time, he maintains prudence and avoid carelessness to take the bait of his opponent. He sticks to the game plan and eventually become a winner. Simply in business, we should create the best plan, and then stand for it. Read more

Business lessons can be dug anywhere and anytime. If you have the entrepreneurial mind, you can reflect and learn important business virtues from your simple daily activities. I’ve been an ardent Facebook user for a couple of months now. The world’s most popular social network site is really fun and interestingly interactive. There, you can enjoy great games and applications including some marketing tools to promote your site. And here comes one game called Farmville – the only game I can allow to play for myself for currently experiencing time poverty.
Farmville is a very popular Facebook game application created by Zynga, a prominent company and developer of social games on the web. It has more than 55 million monthly active users as at the date of this post. Inside the game, you can create your own farm, plant fruits and vegetables, raise nice animals and decorate the farm the way you want it. You can also send and receive gifts to and from your friends and neighbors. In the market, you can buy your desired seeds to plant, animals to breed and other stuff and infrastructures you want depending on your current level. As of the writing of this post, I’m just in the 12th level of the game. Nevertheless, I already enjoyed and had so much fun with it. And beyond that, I have learned the following ten business lessons that every business owners and entrepreneurs should reflect. Read more
Business management for small businesses

When people think of business, they usually think of profit and money. When people think of management, they usually see a person or group of persons wearing nice coats and ties. All of these are like viewpoints seen on a tip of an iceberg which still had unseen deeper notions under it. Being in business should not only mean being in a quest to financial wealth. Likewise, management doesn’t only mean a process which can be handled by people who have finished college or master’s degree in business management or administration.
For big companies, management is well-funded and well-established. But how about those small entities which obviously don’t have huge money to spend to establish a well-placed management structure? The answer is… they don’t actually need big bucks to have a management system that will effectively and efficiently run their small companies. What small entrepreneurs need is a great participation in their small businesses. This rigorous participation means great investment of time, passion and personal qualities (i.e., intelligence, wisdom, emotional strength, ability to influence and lead people, etcetera). Read more
A list of online business forums

Participating in different online business forums and communities can be beneficial to both online and offline entrepreneurs. For offline business owners, joining a business forum in the Internet provides them useful, quick and important information in running their businesses and bringing them to success. Additionally, they can also promote their products and services in the online community of business minded persons.
For online entrepreneurs, aside from obtaining the benefits that offline entrepreneurs get, they can also promote their online presence (company websites or blogs) in the cyber forum. For example, I join a lot of online business forums to ask, help, answer and exchange significant matters on entrepreneurship, marketing, management and other business related topics. Aside from acquiring those extra knowledge and wisdom, I can also promote my business blog by placing a signature link below each of my post. By properly adhering their terms and rules, I enjoy some link juices that put my blog in high ranking. This also pulls traffics from those forums, especially when I am able to share ideas that really help members of the business community. Read more
