That’s why they will try to do everything from content writing, to link building, to even engaging in expensive online promotion system just to obtain that goal. When it comes to website development (in terms of traffic, ranking and popularity), most experts say that content is king, while others are claiming that it is instead SEO. This debate has already become trendy in many articles and blog posts from around the web. I even said in one of my article that <a href="http://businessaccent.com/2009/09/19/content-is-king-living-in-a-marketing-castle/">content is king who is living in a marketing castle</a>. In my opinion, content and Search Engine Optimization should not compete with each other. Why? It’s because they are part of each other. Content writing is part of SEO and SEO can be applied through content writing. Furthermore, SEO can also be applied through link building or online promotion. But among content, link building and online promotion, I still consider content as still and will still be… the king. The main reason? It is in our contents that our websites become genuinely marketable and constantly useful.<span id="more-1211"></span></p>
<p>When it comes to search engine positioning, information becomes the main key to success. Information may be in the form of texts, images, audios and videos. But although a picture can tell a thousand words, a podcast can talk a thousand principles and a video can show a thousand scenes – texts, words, sentences and paragraphs are still my favorite content. Obviously, it’s because article writing is my most comfortable skill. Moreover, the usual search engines love texts. Do you wonder why Twitter becomes a very successful place on the Internet even without exchanging and showcasing so much images, audios and videos? It is because of the very convenient communication system using 140 text characters. Texts also edge the other kinds of contents because of its light weight. Images, audios and videos are all heavier files than texts. Large files cause a particular website to run inefficiently. You can put a thousand words in a single page of your site and still make your page uploads quickly. While a single page with just a hundred videos can give you trouble in uploading that page.</p>
<p>Articles can fill your site with rich contents while preserving the speed of your pages. Hence, it is safe to write and write and write good and original articles. As I have said earlier, search engines love information. Articles are good provider of information. That’s why in optimizing your site in the giant search engines, you should produce more articles. So far, in this blog, I have written about a 135 articles. These 135 articles give an average of 380 page views daily. By doing some averaging, we can tell that each of those articles is viewed 3 times a day. With this equation, if I am able to produce a thousand articles, I can gain a total of 3,000 page views per day.</p>
<p>To achieve the traffic that we are dreaming of for our websites, we must write articles that are loved by search engines. Thus, our articles should RUN.  What do I mean by this? It means that an article, to be liked by search engines, should be Rich, Unique and Natural (RUN). Rich articles are meaningful articles. These are the ones that really help its readers. Some of them are helping people in a timeless period. The second is a unique article. Search engines love exclusive articles (those that are not published elsewhere). Duplicate contents will hurt your site because the mighty search engines like Google will detest them. Lastly, the articles you write should be natural. Writing what it should be will preserve its usefulness, its purpose and its smoothness. Articles that are created mainly to promote several keywords may result in contents rejected by major search engines. Moreover, a keyword-dressed article may only become beneficial to its promoter, but not become helpful to its users and readers. Consequently, these users may not value your articles and will leave them useless.</p>
<p>And now it has been told. If you have some talents in writing articles, then you should write, write, write and write. And make sure that you will write articles that RUN – articles that are rich, unique and natural.</p>
