How to promote your newly established business on Facebook? How can you effectively and efficiently utilize the world’s top social network, which has an estimated 350 million active users online? The following tips will give your fresh business, service, or product a substantial exposure it needs by using Facebook:
1. Have a friendly profile
In getting into all the benefits and advantages Facebook can give to your business, you need to first have a nice and friendly profile. It means you need to have a lot of friends – real friends and not people whom you have grabbed through spamming. You also need to be active in commenting and liking your friends’ posts, responding to their valid requests, greeting on their birthdays and other friendly social interaction activities. Your profile should also be complete and transparent to all your friends. A complete profile shows all your necessary information including your real name, status, interests, contacts, address, websites, email and the like. Your profile shall also contain photos and videos that will enable your friends to recognize you fully. This is to build trust and confidence between you and your friends.
Now that you already have a good Facebook profile, you can be able to promote your business by sharing its useful and interesting information and stories to all your friends. You can also send them messages about your business and how they can benefit from it. Just make sure to avoid spamming and send only messages you believe are relevant to them. If you already have a profile and an account in Facebook, you can also create a group and page which we will discuss in the following paragraphs.
2. Create an interesting group
One of the benefits of having a Facebook account is the privilege to create a group. You can make a group for your business to further promote it. The more the friends you have in your account, the more people you can invite to join your group. However, building a reliable group takes a lot of responsibility. You need to make sure that you are putting useful posts in your group’s wall and interesting topics in your discussions. You may also send important messages about your business to all your members in an instant – a great feature you can use from creating a group.
3. Make a useful page
You can also make a page for your new business to gain more exposure and expand your market. A Facebook Page is like your personal profile. The difference is that it is usually created to share business and products with Facebook users (whom are called fans rather than friends). When your fans interact with your page, stories linking to your page can go to your friends via News Feed. The more your friends interact with your page and story the more your business or product extends its exposure to users. Therefore, to be effective in marketing and promoting your business through your page, you should always share interesting, reliable and useful stories to your fans and supporters. You may view and support our own BusinessAccent.com page in Facebook.
4. Develop an exciting Facebook application
Applications are probably the features that make Facebook the most addictive and exciting social site in the world, as at the date of this article. Facebook released their API to the public so that developers and business owners can develop applications that will add up to the excitement of using the top social site. There are many types of applications that Facebook users are enjoying today. Some of these applications are pure games, some are interesting quizzes, and some are directly related to business and marketing. You can go to the Facebook Developer page to know more about creating an application. You may also hire a programmer to develop an application for your business if you don’t know how to create one. A stimulating application attracts thousand or even millions of users. Once you own such, be sure to place a link in that application to your business or product.
5. Invest on ads
If you are really serious to promote your new business on Facebook and you are ready to spend some marketing expense, using highly targeted CPC and CPM Advertising are good. You can target specific users by age, gender, location, interests and even attach social actions to your ads to increase relevance. If you have created earlier a page for your business, you can advertise this inside Facebook and pay only for new fans and clicks. You can read their advertising overview by going to their advertising page.
6. Have a quality business
The last but not the least, and I believe the most important thing in promoting your new business, is the quality of your products or services. All your great marketing efforts will be wasted if you will promote low-quality products and services to anyone. Hence, be sure to guarantee a true satisfaction to the Facebook community.

Good information about facebook promotion. I want to promote my site on facebook, this information really helpful for me.
i really like facebook, i have added my business on to face book, a very reliable source in my eyes. Also is used a very powerful tool for outsourcing different networks.
Personally I don't think it would be very useful for most businesses to get on facebook. Their paid advertising platform is very beneficial though. I really like how precise you can target certain demographics.
But with the recent reports of Facebook surpassing Google in hits, I think it's increasingly in the radars of businesses.
Till then,

It's certainly very easy to reach your target demographic using Facebook, no doubt about that. I recently read that Facebook are taking over the advertising duties from Microsoft, who previously handled it for them. This is an obvious sign that Facebook realized its advertising potential and want to run it themselves.

You can automatically stream your blog feed into your facebook profile. That could be one way of putting your products up on facebook. Of course you would need a blog too.
This is a great resource and your posts are really informative. Your blog is getting better and better!
Invite your family and friends, and upload pictures of your products to an album and keep the album up to date by removing pictures of sold items and adding pictures of new ones..
@Jessica, You can create a facebook page for your business and then try to get some real FANS. Fake fans wont give profit.
If we follow all the rules as above listed then surely we can promote our business effectively.
