How to comment the right way?
I appreciate people who make comments on the articles written in this site. In fact, I’m always excited to open our dashboard everyday to see who have participated in our discussions. Recent commentators were given rewards by showing their names and links in our blog’s sidebar. Monthly top ten commentators are also shown in our sidebar with their names and links to their websites. This gives them link incentives that provide their websites hundreds of possible backlinks since top commentators appear in our sidebar which is shown in all the pages of our site (this site has 230 pages indexed by Google as at the date of this post). To see the number of a website’s pages indexed by Google, just enter the keyword, site:domainname.com (ex. site:businessaccent.com) in the Google search engine.
Comments make any topic more dynamic. They also make an article or any post more interesting. However, this will depend on the kinds of comments commentators make. This is the 121st post in this site and as at this moment of time, it already had 485 approved comments on it. As the number of commentators significantly increases, I believe it’s time for me to increase my efforts in regulating these comments. I receive a lot of comment spam everyday and it causes my head to be on fire. To achieve harmonious discussions, relationships and sharing of ideas in this site, I decided to add a policy in our commenting system.
To approve your comments, we only require that you comment the right way. So what is the right comment? Based on our contemplation, the following are required to consider your comment a right one:
1. Make your comment relevant to the topic of the article. It means you need to read the post.
2. Do not include a link in the comment body unless it is significant to support your pertinent statement. Do not spam links.
3. Fill your link in the website form and not within the comment. Read and follow comment instruction.
4. Give me your name (or nick name) and not the title of your website. If you really need to promote your business or website you can give me a name with your brand (e.g., Vic of BusinesAccent) or you can put your name below your comment. How can I communicate with you if I don’t know your name?
5. Do not just make a spam-like comment (e.g., great article! or nice post!). I may suspect it as a spam even if it’s actually not and delete it right away. Comment like a human and not like a robot.
So there you are… five simple things you should follow to make a comment right for this website. For commentators who will not follow on the above requirements, you know what will happen. Your comments will be deleted. This means your effort and time will be wasted. So to avoid that from happening, I strongly encourage everyone to comment the right way.
I reserve the right to change the above comment policies in the future as necessity and suitability require me to do so.

yap, i would agree with that. its very annoying to see comments not related to the topic, those spam links, and especially those spamming comments with links on porns…i delete them right away…hope this post of Vic will serve as a reminder and guide…thanks
Hi there Jean. Your comments are welcomed and approved here. I only require commentators to put their name either at the namefield (ex. Jean @ used tires) or at the bottom of their comment text (which is exactly like yours). Your my facebook, twitter friend and a valuable friend. Cheers Jean. I hope I may able to call my other commentators at their name and not at their keyword.
I think it is a good move to have a stronger comment policy. I know I've been commenting on your blog for a while now, so I hope I am still able comment in the same way that I have in the past. I know I have tried to leave very relevant comments, and I have always used my name at the end of the comment that I have left to make it more personal, and to say hey.. yeah I am not a bot, lol.
Till then,
Jean
Good idea to post this. Spam links are irritating.
