It is essentially important to prioritize things in life. This will help us accomplish and not forget the most important things in our lives. By doing what should be done first, we can assure to live a good life – and have a good existence beyond life. In this article, I have attempted to illustrate the level of priorities that we, humans, should be guided. This presentation aims to steer people on achieving real and lasting success in life. In absorbing these pieces of unfamiliar information, a solemn spiritual reflection is highly recommended.

Here is a list of prioritization:

1. Things that last forever

These are the things that we should always prioritize first. These things last for eternity. Everything will be useless without them. These include the following:

- God (the immortal one)

- Love (that never ends)

- Truth (that glorifies forever)

- Our spirits (that never perish)

2. Things that last a lifetime

Second are the things that will be with us for the rest of our lives. These are the ones who will be on our sides until our last breath. These include:

-Wife or husband (who will be with us till the day we die)

-Fiancée or fiancé (who will be our wives or husbands)

-Families of our blood (whom we can always return to)

-True friends (whom will always be there for us)

-Health (which is essential for our living)

3. Things that last for almost half a lifetime

These include things that will stay with us while we are young, capable and dynamic.

-Career (which will feed us until we retire)

-Companies (which will compensate us till we stop working)

-Business (which give us passive income as long as we are capable)

-House (which is our shelter usually for many years)

4. Things that last for a year

These things only last for a year or for a few years because of depreciation, wear and tear.

-Clothes (that we wear but tear after a year)

-Cell phones (which quickly becomes obsolete or out of model)

-Computers (which depreciates for years)

-Other things that last for a few years

5. Things that last for a day

These are quick things – quick to obtain and also quick to perish.

-Food (which relieve our hunger for a day)

-Drinks (which relieve our thirst for a day)

-Sex (which provides short happiness unless you need a child)

-Other things that are consummated for a day

So how should we apply this prioritization? To answer that, let’s take the following example.

In running a business, this is how I consider my business decisions (in order of prioritization):

1. Things that last forever: Will my business decisions follow the teaching of my God (e.g., honesty, integrity, generosity and humility)?

2. Things that last for life: Will those decisions preserve my relationship with my fiancée?

3. Things that last for almost half of your life: Will those decisions contribute growth in my business (income) or in my career (recognition)?

4. Things that last for a year: Will those decisions buy me a new laptop?

5. Things that last for a day: Will those decisions buy me a coffee?

How about you? How do you prioritize things in your life? List your priorities and start acting on them NOW……

  • Vic,

I'd only change a few things around, but for the most part, I'm with you. Are you a philosopher by the way? :P

I've viewed quite a few of your posts, and you speak like one. Your posts are intriguing and thought provoking.
  • Yes some time we makes mistake in our life and sometime we gets confused to whom we need to prioritize, some time condition breaks our selves to determine priority.
  • Nice list Vic but I will disagree your arrangement if you mean that the list was arranged according to how we need to prioritize things. I cannot prioritize cellphones and computers over foods and drinks just because they last longer than the later. Very captivating title and I like your insights.
  • Hello Sir!

    I'm glad you've visited.
The list is arranged according to the time period they will last indeed. That is... i will prefer a laptop over a food for one day. But I will prefer a one year supply of food over a laptop. This topic deserves to be a book, it's so universal and cannot be elaborated by just one article.

Thanks, you really can scrutinize people's philosophies. And it's good because I learn from your opinions. They are real and distinct.
