Cheap yet cool and effective product marketing

stickerincrThere was this ad that caught my attention when I went to a comfort room the other day. Yes it was in the C.R., which an advertisement of a service offered by a certain Company caused me to write this short article. The idea was to make nice and durable stickers with messages like “please flush after use”. Of course I have not seen the women’s comfort room, but in the men’s room, people will see these stickers as much time as they need to do their personal necessities inside the room. In these stickers, below the message, the company name, contact numbers and the catching description of the advertiser’s products are also printed. These stickers were given to the management of the building for free and placed in the building’s comfort rooms. The reminder message to the people was printed as if it was a reminder from the management of the building and the maker of the stickers.

In this time of economic downturn, low cost but effective marketing is vital to a business enterprise. Although online marketing (internet marketing) is the most effective and most cost friendly form of marketing nowadays, there are still offline marketing techniques that we can do at a favorable price to boost our sales and profits. The sticker idea is one of them. Mass production of these stickers can save your marketing budget. With the proper negotiation with the owners of buildings, malls, public places in your town, these stickers can be placed perfectly in your target areas – their comfort rooms. These stickers will also benefit the owners and management of those buildings because they will not anymore spend a penny to buy things like stickers that will remind people to maintain cleanliness in their comfort rooms. So it is a mutual benefit for the building owners and the marketers. Let us just make it sure that before we put these things on their CRs, a consent from them must be first obtained.

Unlike putting your ads in the streets or in the subways, putting ads in places like comfort rooms, are more advantageous in terms of catching people’s attention and understanding. The reason is simply because people spend more time in the comfort rooms rather than on the streets which mostly they pass in a hurry. A sticker positioned in front of you when you use their urinal bowl would always catch your attention. And once you are done in fulfilling the call of nature, you have already read and absorbed all the messages of the sticker including the product or the service that is being advertised on that sticky piece of object.

No free but much less expensive that going to a physical trade show is attending exhibiting or producing a virtual event.

Thanks for this article and the inspiration. Creating video has become a strong part of my entire marketing system. Not only is it fun, but it's also been effective. I create short videos designed to catch attention. Then I lead these viewers back to a Free offer on my site. My traffic is targeted because I post at http://www.Adwido.com and they help target specific keywords and it's free to get an account. From this video I am motivated to create a way to add offline methods to my marketing system.

I agree that comfort room (or bathroom as us North Americans say) advertisements are very effective. This is one of the few times when you can get the person's full attention. Unfortunately to get this advertising cheaply, the ad part of it can't be too obtrusive.

I wish there was some type of offline promotion I could do for my sites. Unfortunately I do not live in my target market which makes it tough. So offline promotion would be too expensive for me. Instead I rely on free website marketing strategies.

    You have a point there.
I understand that your niche is not in your local reach. In this case, the internet media is the best tool you can utilize in your promoting products. The good thing is, it's cost effective. The challenging thing is – it needs lots of hard works and patience.

  6. It's really very effective and unique marketing idea. It's cheaper than other marketing strategies. Thanks for share good idea.

This is a cool marketing idea. I know that if there is anything on the wall in front of the urinal, I will take the time to read it. It beats just staring at a blank wall. It is one time that I don't mind checking out an ad. At least the guy beside me won't think I'm checking him out.
