The Most Important Key to Become a Successful Blogger

Blogging is running and maintaining a blog (web log) by sharing and publishing information through texts, art (artlog), photos (photoblog), sketches (sketchlog) audios (podcasting), music (MP3 blog) or videos (vlog). According to Technorati, it has already indexed 112.8 millions of blogs in their database as of June 2008. That’s pretty huge enough! Just imagine where your blog is ranked among those numbers. People blog because of many reasons – one primary reason is to earn money (i.e., through adsense, affiliate marketing, etc.). Another thing that bloggers invest time and effort is to gain fame and recognition. Some people simply want to express their thoughts and inner insights. But whatever the reason is, bloggers dream of one thing – to become a successful blogger in their own goals.

To start a blog is easier than washing your dishes in the kitchen. Many powerful yet free blogging softwares are available on the net. WordPress, blogspot and typepad are among them. Among the three, I use WordPress because of its power and flexibility. You can have your own domain and webhost so that you can manage your blog according to your customization (webhosting companies today offer fantastico that can automatically install blogging software like WordPress). If you don’t want to spend any penny, you can just signup and have your blog hosted free in sites like Blogspot, Typepad and of course WordPress.

Because of the rising popularity of blogs these days, many advertisers love them. But of course they will love your blog if it receives tons of traffic. When you want to express, of course you want to be heard. If you want to present and share, you want to be accepted. Hence your goal is concentrated into one thing – traffic. To make these more relevant, you certainly want “relevant traffic”. Relevant traffic means visitors who visit your blog with the same interest as your blog’s interest.

To achieve relevant traffic is to achieve profit, popularity, friends, readers, listeners and audience. Visitors love useful information. And the more useful information your blog has is the more the chance that your blog will be visited by internet users. Hence, the important factor for your blogging success lies in the quality and quantity of information your blog can offer. These pieces of information should be original and cannot be found elsewhere in other blogs out there. Successful blogs on the net are blogs that contain hundreds and even thousands of original, useful and relevant posts. So how can we produce masses of quality information? The answer of this question is the most important key on how we can become successful bloggers. We are all experts in our own enthusiasm. Most successful tech blogs are owned by technology experts and enthusiasts. And most of successful marketing blogs are maintained by marketing experts and enthusiasts. Don’t try to blog things which are not in your bloodline. This may result into poor production of information in your blog. Remember that reputation is one great thing that we should always preserve of. Therefore, we must blog on the things we really love, on the subjects we are enthusiast of, on the topics we are experts of and on the matters that are very important to us.
