Every one of us has his own worries. Whether we are financially poor or living in wealth and fortune, worries doesn’t seem to leave us. Losing our business, our money, family, job, youth and or fame are some of the many worries that we face in our ordinary days. Worries are emotional and mental reactions in which a person feel and think anxious or concerned about an actual or imagined issue. This may include personal issues such as health, finances, careers and relationships. Broader issues such as environmental pollution, social and technological changes and spiritual revolution also add to people’s worries. Moderate and short-lived worries may cause positive effects on a person by giving him precautions and making him an aware and discrete person (e.g., installing security alarms, buying fire insurance and hiring financial and Information System auditors). But in most cases, occurrence of worries to people becomes destructive rather than preventive or directive. Persistent worries can cause heart attacks, high blood pressure, ulcers, gastrointestinal problems, respiratory problems and hypertension. Remember that a healthy body means a healthy mind and a healthy mind means a healthy body. Read more

Last January, I went to Kalibo Aklan (Philippines) to audit one of our clients – a credit cooperative. Aklan is popular for Boracay Island where you can find purely white beaches. If you are going to Boracay from outside the Philippines, you can fly to Manila (the country’s capital city), and then ride another plane to Caticlan for an hour. Another way is to fly directly to Kalibo International Airpot where you can ride a van or a bus for an hour to Caticlan. When you arrive in Caticlan you will need to ride a boat for about 15 minutes to reach the Island of Boracay.
It was my first time to visit the Island and it was really a great experience to see the white sand that attracts many tourists around the world. When I first arrive at Dmall (a mall near the beach) it was filled with different races of people – Chinese, Germans, Japanese, Americans, British, Koreans, Italians, and of course Filipinos. The place, although a small island, is already urbanized and commercialized. Five stars hotels like Boracay Regency hotel and Discovery Shores entice the visitors to stay there. At night, you can hang-up on different bars line up beside the sea, offering fine wines and tasty foods. Read more

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a Hundred Billion Dollar industry and will continue to boom in the future. In this time of global economic recession, most of the world’s large companies are cutting their operational costs and moving into outsourcing which is more cost effective than hiring employees.
BPO involves the contracting of the operations and responsibilities of a specific business functions or processes to an external party service provider (BPO companies). It helps the business or company to increase its flexibility. Because of outsourcing non-core functions to a third party, the company can be able to focus on its core competencies, without being burdened by the demands of bureaucratic dictate.
